The 2024 National Senior Certificate (NSC) results in South Africa were released in January 2025. The pass rate was 87.3%, the highest in the country’s history.
2024 results
- The Free State had the best performance at 91.0%
- KwaZulu-Natal was second with a pass rate of 89.5%
- Gauteng was third with a pass rate of 88.4%
- North-West was fourth with a pass rate of 87.5%
- The Western Cape was fifth with a pass rate of 86.6%
2023 results
- The pass rate was 82.9%
- The Free State had the best performance at 89.0%
- KwaZulu-Natal was second with a pass rate of 86.4%
- Gauteng was third with a pass rate of 85.4%
