General Scholarship instructions
Lincoln University offers a range of merit-based scholarships for international students, aimed at rewarding high academic achievement, leadership potential, and relevance of programme choice.
Awards can be based on personal qualities, financial need, home country, or study area. Some are automatic when applying; others require separate scholarship forms.

Eligibility criteria Requirement
- Must meet academic requirements:
- High school completion with strong grades for undergrads (~75%+ school average)
- B+ average or better (≈ GPA 3.3+) for taught master’s; research master’s/PhD require relevant bachelor/MA level degree strong record
- Must meet English proficiency, per programme (e.g. IELTS, TOEFL)
- Must not hold another scholarship concurrently in many cases
Benefits
For selected individual:
- Scholarship value: NZ$3,000, awarded as a one‑off credit toward your first semester tuition fees only
- Approximately 10 awards per intake (varies by year)
- No living stipend, travel or ongoing support beyond that initial tuition credit

- Filled IUGS application form
- Statement of Purpose (SOP)
- High school transcripts and certificates
- Admission offer or conditional offer letter from Lincoln University
- Passport copy
- Evidence of English proficiency if required
