Job Summary:  

• Seeking an experienced Mining Manager (Shaft Mining) to oversee underground operations, production planning, and safety compliance. Requires expertise in shaft sinking, hoisting, ventilation, and deep mining. Strong leadership, regulatory knowledge, and operational efficiency are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee daily shaft mining operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance.
• Develop and implement shaft sinking, mine development, and production plans.
• Ensure safe and effective hoisting operations, including equipment maintenance and load management.
• Oversee ventilation systems, ground support, dewatering, and emergency response planning.
• Implement cost control measures, optimizing production while maintaining safety standards.
• Lead shaft rehabilitation and maintenance programs to extend mine life and improve productivity.
• Supervise and mentor mining engineers, geologists, shift supervisors, and underground workers.
• Ensure compliance with mine health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
• Collaborate with geotechnical teams to assess rock stability, seismic activity, and ground control measures.
• Identify and implement technology-driven solutions for deep mining efficiency and safety improvement.
• Prepare and present operational reports, safety audits, and performance assessments to senior management.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in shaft mining or deep underground mining in a large organization.
• Strong knowledge of shaft sinking methods, hoisting systems, and underground infrastructure.
• Experience in ground support techniques, ventilation management, and dewatering operations.
• Strong understanding of mine safety regulations, emergency response protocols, and risk assessment.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong financial and operational management abilities.
