Motor Vehicle Trainer – Geita Gold Mine
OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE
The role focuses exclusively on training, assessing, and coaching employees on safe driving of motor vehicles onsite. The role is responsible for developing the professional capabilities of employees on light vehicles, light trucks, and buses in alignment with company safety standards and procedures.
ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Provide instruction on the parts and functions of a vehicle and road regulations.
- Teach practical skills related to all aspects of driving.
- Help employees develop confidence in their driving skills and gain control of the vehicle during emergency situations.
- Provide defensive driving training and steep terrain requirements to improve driving skills for all trainees.
- Coordinate and administer training solutions for light vehicles, light trucks, buses, and supporting equipment operators as per the available training matrix.
- Prepare and facilitate refresher programmes for all drivers in line with company policy and procedures.
- Ensure all company equipment and other training facilities are used safely and are well secured.
- Observe the safety of equipment and trainees at all times.
- Ensure proper utilization of the learning management system and record management system.
- Report hazards and incidents to support the safety culture.
- Participate in activities related to HSE programmes to enhance productivity.
- Monitor major hazard standards for mobile equipment and conduct critical controls verification.
- Stop any unsafe work that is being done.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Education & Qualification
- Completion of Secondary School education or above.
- Valid driving instructor’s certificate or license.
- Valid Tanzania Driver’s License Class B, D, C, E.
- Train the trainer certificate will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 3 – 5 years proven experience as a driving instructor.
Knowledge & Skills
- Valid Driving Instructor Certificates.
- Trainer and Assessor.
- Supervise the Training Activities.
- Excellent communication skills.
