Ajira: Tanzania kupleka Vijana kuajiriwa Qatar World Cup

TANZANIA has assured Qatar that it is ready to provide young people who will be able to work in the country, especially in this period where the demand for manpower is high due to the country hosting the World Cup in November this year.

This was stated during the talks between the Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Fatma Rajab and the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Dr. Ahmad Hassan Al-Hamadi held at the Ministry’s offices in the city Doha, Qatar yesterday.

The talks have been held as part of the implementation of the Labor Agreement signed between Tanzania and Qatar in 2014.

“We congratulate Qatar for hosting the FIFA World Cup that will start in November this year. In addition, I would like to inform you that Tanzania has prepared its young people with skills and therefore we are asking for job opportunities and visa allocation, for Tanzanians to be able to come to work here especially during the World Cup,” added Ambassador Fatma.

In the Session, the leaders also emphasized the importance of strengthening the existing good cooperation between these two countries, especially in the areas of investment and trade.

Ambassador Fatma explained that the Sixth Phase Government under President Samia Suluhu Hassan, has made great improvements to the investment and business environment, so she has called on Qatari businessmen to come and invest in the country in various areas such as tourism, agriculture, mining, natural resources, fishing and culture.

“I would like to assure you that Tanzania has various business and investment opportunities and we welcome the Government of Qatar and your citizens to come and invest in the country, especially in the tourism, mining, trade and investment sectors,” Ambassador Fatma said.

The meeting, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, was also attended by the Secretary General, Office of the Prime Minister, Work, Youth, Employment and People with Disabilities, Prof. Jamal Katundu, Director of the Middle East Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Hemed Mgaza and Head of Administration of the Tanzanian Embassy in Qatar, Patricia Kiswaga.
