One of the most common issues with computers and laptops is overheating. Sometime the computer in the office may turn off while working due to overheat.
Overheating computers can cause a lot of problems, from seemingly random blue screens to data loss. So your interviewer wants to determine your troubleshooting expertise.
Make sure you are explaining step by step instruction to impress them with your troubleshooting expertise..

Most of the computers when gets overheated and shuts itself down, then it is prevents your PC from extreme damage. Many motherboards have inbuilt features to monitor the temperature and then turn itself off when it gets to a certain level. Bios Helps you to determine, the reason of shutting down and the shut off temperature set on the PC.

Likewise the problem may also occur most likely due to a bad fan. If the processor fan is not working or not spinning fast enough then that will cause the processor to overheat really quickly. Some motherboards also have a setting to tell you the speed/RPM of the processor fan so you will know how fast it is spinning. In that scenerio, open the case and then turn on the computer and check the processor and case fans to see if any are out. Moreover an accumulation of dust inside your system can also cause things to get hot very fast.
Furthermore, bad and damaged batteries, Software using too much resources, may also be the reasons of overheated computers.
