Tradesperson 1: Welder – Geita Gold Mine

OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE

• Perform welding tasks safely and to required quality standards, executing planned and unplanned work and releasing equipment safely to operations.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Interpret blueprints before starting work.
• Measure and cut materials to specification.
• Weld using appropriate materials to join metals.
• Verify finished work meets blueprint tolerances.
• Execute planned and unplanned tasks and hand over equipment safely.
• Apply correct methods and safety precautions to meet quality and timelines.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Education & Qualification

• VETA Trade Test Certificate Grade One in Welding or its equivalent.
• Good computer skills.
• Must possess valid Tanzanian driving license.

Experience

• At least 2 years or more experience as welder.

Knowledge & Skills

• Blueprint reading and interpretation.
• Measuring, cutting, and welding to specification.
• Quality control and tolerance verification.
• Strong safety focus and use of correct methods.
• Effective communication with supervisors and timely reporting.
