Responsibilities:
- Instruction and Training: Develop and deliver training programs on heavy equipment systems, including engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Hands-on Coaching: Mentor junior mechanics and trainees, guiding best practices for repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Safety Training: Instruct on safety regulations, hazardous conditions, and procedures, ensuring compliance with standards like OSHA.
- Curriculum Development: Create and update training materials and documentation related to equipment maintenance and repair procedures.
- Performance Evaluation: Conduct tests and evaluations to assess trainee proficiency and ensure equipment repairs meet specifications.
- Mentoring and Support: Foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and operational excellence among trainees.
- Stay Updated: Stay current with industry advancements, technological developments, and manufacturer guidelines to enhance training content.
- Record Keeping: Proficiency in documenting maintenance activities, repair logs, and equipment performance metrics.
Qualification Requirements:
- Heavy Diesel Fitter Trade Test
- Extensive knowledge of Sandvik UG Trackless Mining Equipment
Experience and Skills Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years working on mechanized mining equipment.
- Exposure to work with automation of underground mechanized mining equipment.
- Exposure to industry-best preventative maintenance regimes is imperative to ensure machinery and equipment are maintained to a high level of availability at all times.
