To contribute to Government Business’ growth and profitability with extensive focus on business value chain development activities for new and existing clients under Central Government.
Main Responsibilities:
- Focus on the unit’s business growth and profitability through effective development of new business
- Consistently focus on identifying various business value chain opportunities within your portfolio and work closely with other departments to implement and close government projects deals, and financial solutions initiated or requested by the Government
- Seek Government business deals and align internal stakeholders for execution plans
- Support the preparation of winning responses to RFPs, developing pricing proposals in conjunction with RFP responses and obtain approval prior to delivery.
- Upkeep the development of long-term Government Business retention plans.
- Provide specialist advice to Government Accounting Officers and other parties.
- Provide advice on financial solutions that can be partner with the Government
- Take lead in marketing intelligence as well as advising the Senior Manager about various ongoing and upcoming government development projects.
- Manage a portfolio of existing government banking relationships providing consultative solutions of products and services to meet customer’s needs and enhance and expand banking relationships and conduct annual reviews.
- Support the preparation of formal presentations for customers and potential customer engagements
- Support Zonal Relationship Managers Government Business on issues that need Central Government and Head office interventions
Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of Banking Business, Relationship Management, Banking Operations and Government Operations
- In-depth understanding of Central Government, Government transactions/projects, banking industry or sector trends.
- Sales Negotiation Skills, Financial analytical skills, Relationship Management on Government and Key Stakeholders
- Building Partnerships, Communication, Formal Presentation skills
- People Management Skills
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business related fields.
- Postgraduate education in Banking and/or Banking certification(s) is an added advantage
- At least 4 years’ experience in a Corporate Relationship Management role in Banking and/or financial institutions, Specific on Government/Institutions with a good track record of cash management/investment sales to Government (Ministries/Agencies/Corporate) clients
- Experience handling sensitive client’s portfolio.
