Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Tanzanian skilled and motivated Factory Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will be specializing in a plastic molding company; Factory manager is responsible for the overall success of the plant’s operations, encompassing production, quality, safety, and employee management to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets.
Responsibilities
Production and Operations:
• Planning and Scheduling: Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer demand and inventory requirements.
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality.
• Resource Management: Ensure optimal utilization of human resources, machinery, and equipment.
• Problem Solving: Directly address and resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance issues.
• Data Analysis: Review production and operating reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Capacity Planning: Assess and plan for future production capacity needs.
Quality and Safety:
• Quality Control: Establish and maintain production and quality control standards.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Safety: Maintain a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
• Training: Ensure all employees are adequately trained on safety procedures and company policies.

Requirements

Knowledge and Experience
• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of engineering (e.g., chemical, mechanical, industrial), or a science-related discipline is highly desirable.
• Several years (8+ years) of experience in a supervisory or management role within the plastic molding industry is preferred.
• Experience in leading and managing teams, setting goals, and motivating employees is essential.
Safety Knowledge: A strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures is crucial for ensuring a safe working environment.
Leadership: Strong leadership skills are paramount, including the ability to motivate, delegate, and guide a team to achieve goals.
Communication: Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) are vital for interacting with employees, management, and external stakeholders.
Problem-Solving: The ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems effectively is crucial for ensuring smooth plant operations.
Organizational Skills: Plant managers need to be highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand for long periods
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work for 12 hours 6 days a week.
