Job Description
Job Summary:
Our client, a leading construction company, is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to oversee and manage the procurement activities related to the finalization of civil packages.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for finalizing works contracts across a variety of key construction areas, including but not limited to structural works, facade work, windows and doors, ready-mix concrete (RMC) and batching plant finalization, false ceiling works, excavation, piling, foundation works, painting, and public road works (PRW).
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the evaluation and selection of vendors, including rates negotiation to ensure cost-effective procurement.
- Issue RFQs/Tenders, conduct techno-commercial evaluations, and manage negotiations to secure favorable terms for the company.
- Responsible for drafting, reviewing, and finalizing agreements with suppliers, employers, consulting agencies, main contracts, sub-contractor agreements, and other related contracts for engineering projects, demonstrating strong drafting skills.
- Prepare proposals for management’s approval and generate various MIS reports to monitor procurement activities.
- Ensure minimum lead time for delivery of materials to the site, contributing to timely project execution.
- Coordinate and maintain a good working relationship with the project team, design team, and all relevant stakeholders to streamline procurement processes.
- Prepare project procurement documents, including purchase orders for commodities, equipment, services, and construction sub-contracts to meet all project requirements.
- Support both pre and post-contract procurement processes to ensure continuous alignment with project requirements and timelines.
Requirements
- A minimum of five years of experience in construction, supply chain, and procurement roles, with a deep understanding of industry processes.
- Proven experience in both pre and post-contract procurement activities to effectively manage all procurement aspects of engineering projects.
- Strong technical writing skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and liaise with clients and stakeholders.
- Excellent client-facing and communication skills to manage relationships and negotiations.
- Highly organized, diligent, proactive, and assertive with a commercial mindset to manage procurement operations efficiently.
- Well-disciplined, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to ensure all procurement activities align with project goals and deadlines.
