Job Summary:
Our client, a Building Construction Company, is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join their team and provide high-level support to the MD. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and analyzing project cost estimates, budgets, and schedules, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and within the desired timelines. This role demands strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, proficiency in relevant software applications, and excellent communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders effectively and contribute to the company’s continued success.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and analyze project cost estimates, budgets, and schedules to ensure timely completion and adherence to financial plans.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to develop cost-effective solutions for construction projects.
  • Manage and verify Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for finishing works, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs and perform rate analysis for finishing-related activities.
  • Reconcile materials and quantities against project drawings and specifications to ensure proper alignment.
  • Review project contracts, specifications, and drawings to determine scope, requirements, and project deliverables.
  • Prepare and submit progress reports, budget updates, and financial reports for clients and internal management.
  • Coordinate with site teams to track project progress, ensure quality standards, and measure quantities for billing purposes.
  • Analyze and monitor project costs and budget to identify variances, implementing corrective actions when necessary.
  • Oversee the procurement process, including supplier selection, contract negotiations, and purchasing of materials and equipment, ensuring cost-effective sourcing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • 4 to 8 years of experience in quantity surveying, billing, and finishing works for real estate construction projects, with a focus on high-rise developments.
  • Proficient in cost estimating, project scheduling, and construction management software applications.
  • Strong knowledge of residential interior design builds execution processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience in negotiating contracts, assessing risks, and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address project challenges effectively
  • Ability to manage project risks and ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Proven ability to manage high-level projects, coordinate site activities, and ensure project timelines and quality standards are met.
