Job Details

Heavy Duty Mechanics (Ref: JHCL/HDM/01/20) – 1 Position

Duty Station: Mine Site – Mbinga, Ruvuma

Reports to: Workshop and Maintenance Supervisor

Job Summary

• A Heavy Duty Mechanic maintains, repairs, and services heavy machinery and equipment used in mining operations. The role involves diagnosing mechanical issues, conducting preventive maintenance, and ensuring mining equipment operates efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement maintenance schedules for mining equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in mining machinery.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns.
• Ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.
• Maintain parts inventory and order necessary components.
• Perform welding and fabrication tasks as needed.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and conduct repairs.
• Maintain detailed records of repairs and maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with other staff and assist in skill development.

Key Qualifications

• Trade certification as a Heavy Duty Mechanic or equivalent qualification.
• At least 2 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance.
• Proficiency in diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
