Muhimbili University in Dar es salaam Tanzania

Egerton University

Egerton University is the oldest organization of high learning in Kenya. It was once established as a Farm School in 1939 via Lord Maurice Egerton of Tatton, a British country wide who settled in Kenya inthe 1920s. In 1950, the School used to be upgraded to an Agricultural College imparting diploma programmes.
The Egerton Agricultural College Ordinance used to be enacted in 1955. In 1979, the Government of Kenya and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) funded a most important growth of the institution. In 1986, Egerton Agricultural College used to be gazetted as a constituent university of the University of Nairobi. The following year, 1987, marked the institution of Egerton University via an Act of Parliament. Egerton University Act of 1987 used to be repealed and changed by means of the Universities Act No. forty two of 2012 and chartered afresh in 2013.
