The Electoral Commission in Kenya IEBC has announced vice president William Ruto as the president-elect, following a fiercely contested election, defeating longtime politician and opposition leader Raila Odinga.
However, the exercise has been plagued by uncertainty after the four commissioners of the IEBC commission announced that they did not recognize the results of the presidential election, claiming that the process lacked transparency in the final stages.
Ruto got 50.49% against Odinga’s 48.8%.
