Verge Consult, on behalf of our client is looking to hire for two keys roles in the human resources departments.

1) Human Resources Manager (1 full time position)

The ideal candidate will support the full scope of Human Resources responsibilities and partner with the organization on strategic initiatives. They will maintain and enhance the organization’s human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating human resources policies, programs, and practices.

Responsibilities
• Recruit and Onboard new hires Conduct performance management and provide feedback Manage Payroll and benefits for employees
• Support the business strategy of the company through accurate role based hiring, training and development of the workforce.
• Manage the business risks through adequate retention strategies and development of appropriate succession plan for the business.
• Development of appropriate HR policies and ensure awareness by employees
• Work with finance to ensure management of the staff budget covering recruitment, training & development, employee events and such other costs borne from human resources.
• Work with management to devise strategies to improve the work place environment and develop appropriate Employee value propositions.
• Periodically produce reports and mine data that improves management strategy and people management decision making/

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources or relevant experience
• 3+ years’ experience in Human Resources
• Strong recruiting and demonstrated ability to improve talent acquisition strategies
• Demonstrated expertise training managers and employees
• Strong organizational, critical thinking and communications skills
• Good understanding of the Tanzania labor and industrial relations laws
• Experience in conflict management, workplace disciplinary processes and workplace investigations
• Proficiency in Microsoft office i.e. Word, excel and power point.
• Attention to detail and good judgement

2) Payroll Specialist (1 full time position)

Our client is looking for a Payroll Specialist to process and manage the company’s payroll. The role holder will be responsible for development of time sheets to track, record, and calculate appropriate wages of the full time and contract based employees of the business. The role holder being privy to sensitive personal information of the members of the organization and hence requires the incumbent to operate with integrity and respect for personal data.

Responsibilities:
• The incumbent is to ensure the employees continuously receive timely wages and salaries.
• Correctly maintain workman data for accurate calculations of compensation.
• Ability to utilize standard payroll systems i.e. prepare and execute pay orders and deliver to employees pay slips as prescribed by the laws of Tanzania.
• Process taxes and other benefits including statutory pensions, workman’s compensation and any other employment related deductions as per the policies of the company and/or the laws of the country.
• Prepare appropriate reports to upper management and finance department to support approvals to pay employees and drive strategic decisions of the company.

Qualifications:
• BSc/BA in appropriate graduate degree in business, accounting, or any other equivalent /relevant course or advanced diploma.
• Minimum 2+years experience as a payroll specialist or payroll manager
• Solid understanding or payroll fundamentals and accounting principles.
• Very good understanding of the regulations and laws of Tanzania that govern human resources.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications as well as payroll software e.g. Kronos, Payforce, etc.
• Ethical, trustworthy and aware of the secrecy/privacy requirements of the role.
• Analytical, comfortable working with large amounts of data and attention to detail.
